The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating dry eye syndrome containing a mixed extract of Paeonia lactiflora and Glycyrrhiza uralensis or a fraction thereof as an active component； and a health functional food for preventing or alleviating dry eye syndrome containing the mixed extract or the fraction thereof as the active component.
