PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for more efficiently inducing a higher-quality somatic embryo group compared to conventional methods by heightening the proportion of a single somatic embryo from a somatic embryo mass of a plant. SOLUTION: The method for inducing the single somatic embryo includes subjecting the somatic embryo mass of the plant to a physical dividing treatment. The method for mass-proliferating the plant includes inducing a large amount of the single somatic embryos from the somatic embryo mass by the method, and germinating the somatic embryos.
