The absorbent core is located between the topsheet/acquisition web laminate and the backsheet. The topsheet/acquisition web laminate comprises a liquid permeable topsheet and an acquisition web in a face to face relationship. The topsheet/acquisition web laminate comprises three-dimensional protrusions extending from a plane of the topsheet/acquisition web laminate. The acquisition web is a nonwoven fibrous web comprising an upper layer facing towards the topsheet and a lower layer facing towards the absorbent core. The average diameter of the fibers in the upper layer is higher than the average diameter of the fibers in the lower layer.
