The objective of the present invention is to provide a hyaluronic acid production promoter that has no safety issues. Another objective of the present invention is to provide a food/drink for promoting the production of hyaluronic acid and a cosmetic for promoting the production of hyaluronic acid that contain said substance. The hyaluronic acid production promoter, the food/drink for promoting the production of hyaluronic acid, and the cosmetic for promoting the production of hyaluronic acid employ, as an active ingredient, angiogenin and/or an angiogenin decomposition product obtained by decomposing angiogenin with a protease such as pepsin or pancreatin. Angiogenin and the angiogenin decomposition product have the effect of increasing the amount of hyaluronic acid.
