The present invention relates to: a composition for controlling stem cell pluripotency, containing an LIN28A methylation inhibitor and a method for screening for an LIN28A methylation inhibitor, and more particularly, to a composition for controlling embryonic stem cell pluripotency or an anticancer composition, which is a composition for controlling stem cell pluripotency or treating cancer, containing an inhibitor for controlling the methylation of the 135th lysine of LIN28A to be methylated by Set7/9, and a method for screening for the inhibitor, wherein the screening method comprises the steps of: (a) making a candidate material come into contact with cells into which the LIN28A gene is introduced (b) measuring the methylation level of the 135th lysine of LIN28A and (c) selecting an inhibitor for controlling the methylation of the 135th lysine of LIN28A.
