PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin which enables stable combination of chlorhexidine hydrochloride.SOLUTION: An external preparation for skin of the invention is characterized by containing chlorhexidine hydrochloride, higher fatty acid A with a melting point of higher than 72°C, and higher fatty acid B with a melting point of 72°C or less. When the compounding amount of the higher fatty acid A is X [mass%] and the compounding amount of the higher fatty acid B is Y [mass%], the relation of 0.1&leY/X&le50 is preferred to be satisfied. The compounding amount of chlorhexidine hydrochloride is preferred to be 0.0001-0.5 mass%. The compounding amount of the higher fatty acid A is preferred to be 0.01-10 mass%. The compounding amount of the higher fatty acid B is preferred to be 0.01-20 mass%.
