The pumping system includes a pipe section having a uniform insidediameter, and a production water piping circuit connected to branch pipeson the upstream and downstream ends of the pipe section, forming a loopwith the pipe section. The production water circuit comprises a pump andvalves for pumping production water into the pipe section through the inletbranch pipe and out through the outlet branch pipe. There is also provideda method for pumping upload water and fish along the pipe section,comprising the steps of drawing production water out of the pipe sectionthrough the downstream end of the pipe section, and simultaneouslyinducing a flow of upload water and fish through the pipe section. Themethod also includes the step of pumping production water into anupstream end of the pipe section and causing a flow of upload water andfish along the pipe section.
