The present invention is to provide a method for fabricating a nanoparticles embedded water hyacinth strips. The method comprises the steps of fabricating water hyacinth strips and embedding silver nano particle on the water hyacinth strips. The water hyacinth strips are prepared by immersing a biomass containing leaves and stems of water hyacinth plant in a solution of sodium bisulphite and sodium sulphite. Heating and grinding the solution to form dried fibers and washing the washing the fibers with deionized water to form the strips. Further the strips are immersed in a solution containing silver nanoparticles for embedding silver nanoparticles on the water hyacinth strips.
