Disclosed are: a lighting environment control facility capable of adjusting the light irradiated upon a crop to the optimum state for the growth of the crop, thereby activating the natural defenses of the crop against pests; a pest control method for determining whether or not the pests infesting a crop can be controlled and controlling pests on the basis of the determination; and an intensive cultivation method. Specifically disclosed is a facility for use in pesticide-free cultivation, which comprises a crop cultivation house formed from a light-permeable material and in which a crop can be cultivated, and a lighting control means which can control the light to be irradiated upon the crop in the crop cultivation house, wherein the lighting control means can adjust the spectral radiance (B) in the wavelength range of blue light, the spectral radiance (R) in the wavelength range of red light, and the spectral radiance (FR) in the wavelength range of infrared light in the light to be irradiated upon the crop being cultivated in the crop cultivation house.
