A method for manufacturing orthodontic appliances is provided, wherein the orthodontic appliance is manufactured by means of vacuum molding or pressure molding of a sheet of thermoplastic polymer film, utilizing a positive tooth model that is impregnated with a composition comprising at least one oily component.
