The present invention relates to a selective enrichment of 3-O-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellylic acid (AKBA) derived from Boswellia serrata and to the use of an extract of Boswellia serrata - a synergistic nutritional or pharmaceutical or dietary supplemental anti-inflammatory composition comprising a therapeutically effective combination of an acidic resin extract (BNRE).
