PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pharmaceutical composition having antihypertensive action as well as heart rate lowering action.SOLUTION: The invention provides a pharmaceutical composition having antihypertensive action and heart rate lowering action, containing a Polygonum hydropiper dry substance and/or extract, and being used so that it is administered orally to a human at a dose of 10 mg/kg body weight/day or more based on the weight of the dry bud parts of Polygonum hydropiper.
