To provide a root crop harvesting machine in which irregular crops such as crops with very short roots or forked crops in the root crops being dug up from a field are removed while being conveyed to a sorting unit without requiring expensive equipment such as an imaging device or a control unit, and thereby the sorting work by the sorting unit is simplified and the efficiency of the harvesting work can be promoted.SOLUTION: A root crop harvesting machine is provided with a shoulder alignment device 5 for aligning the shoulders of the crops in the lower part of a pull-out conveying device 1 for pinching and sending the foliage of the root crops vegetated in a field to the rear while pulling them out, and enables a root alignment device 4 for cutting the foliage with a foliage cutting blade 6 and aligning the roots in the rearward of the shoulder alignment device 5 to be conveyed to a sorting belt 13 and sorted, and thereby contains good crops in a container K.
