PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric fishing reel that is designed to carry out silencing during winding and driving of a spool with a driving motor, and to perform light change-over operation of a clutch.SOLUTION: The electric fishing reel is equipped with a power transmission mechanism 12 for transmitting driving power with a drive motor 8 and a manual handle 6 to the spool 7 and a clutch mechanism 18 for changing over the power transmission mechanism 12 to a power transmission state and a power cutoff state. The power transmission mechanism 12 is provided with a planetary gear mechanism 15 arranged on an output shaft of the driving motor a first rotor 35 for meshing with planetary gears 32 and 33 of the planetary gear mechanism 15 and a second rotor 39 driven and connected through a belt 50 to the first rotor 35 and a clutch operation member 41 subjected to whirl-stop, fitted into the second rotor 39 and moved in the shaft direction so as to be movable in the shaft direction.
