The present disclosure relates to a hair treatment composition in the form of an emulsion comprising: (a) at least one reducing agent selected from thiol-based compounds； (b) at least one alkaline agent； (c) at least one thickening agent； (d) at least one salt, (e) optionally, at least one cationic surfactant； and (f) water； wherein the pH of the composition is less than 7. The disclosure also relates to methods for imparting hair care benefits to the hair such as straightening effects, volume reduction, frizz control, manageability, cosmeticity and smooth feel, in addition to conditioning benefits.La présente invention concerne une composition de soin capillaire sous forme d'émulsion comprenant : (a) au moins un agent réducteur choisi parmi des composés thioliques； (b) au moins un agent alcalin； (c) au moins un agent épaississant； (d) au moins un sel, (e) éventuellement au moins un tensioactif cationique； et (f) de l'eau； le pH de la composition étant inférieur à 7. L'invention concerne également des procédés qui confèrent au soin capillaire des vertus telles que : pouvoir de lissage, réduction du volume, effet anti-frisottis, facilité à coiffer, cosméticité améliorée, sensation de douceur et action démêlante.
