The research relates to planting/placing cotton, soybean, green gram, black gram, sorghum, maize, safflower, pigeon pea seeds in the soil which maintains row to row and plant to plant distance at specified depth with four tynes at a time using inclined plate as a seed metering device and drilling of fertilizer below the seeds in the same rows also forming the BBF (broad base furrow) on both the side of these four row for removing excess of water during more rains or conserving water during less rains simultaneously. It can also be used as interrow cultivator after planting/placing seeds in the soil as and when required for removing unwanted plants (weeds) between the rows using four full sweeps and eight half sweeps. At present all the above mentioned crops are sown either by drilling or dibbling method with the help of locally available bullock / tractor drawn seed drills which are less efficient, labour oriented and time consuming. Tractors are suitable for medium to large land holdings since it gives higher field efficiency in the fields. Much research has been carried on out on different planters but are not having such provisions as in the present invention. This planter has removed additional features of making BBF simultaneously with planting seeds and performing interculture operation after planting in the standing crop. This planter cum interrow cultivator will be useful to the farmers for planting and carrying interculture operations for different crops as it will reduce labour, time and cost of cultivation. It will increase the productivity due to reduction in cost of cultivation.
