A system and method ofcontrolling the application of energy totissue using measurements of impedance aredescribed. The impedance, correlated to thetemperature, may be set at a desired level,such as a percentage of initial impedance.The set impedance may be a function ofthe initial impedance, the size and spacingof the electrodes, the size of a targetedpassageway, and so on. The set impedancemay then be entered into a PID algorithmor other control loop algorithm in order toextract a power to be applied to a treatmentdevice.
