PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a medical needle, by which a processed surface obtained by processing one end part of a metallic base material becomes smooth and sharp, and also an oxide formed on the processed surface can be reduced.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a medical needle includes: a main processing step of processing a needle-shaped metallic base material having a processed surface obtained by processing one end part thereof, with plasma generated in the atmosphere filled with a mixed gas containing a main gas and a reaction gas and a post-processing step of processing the metallic base material after the main processing, with plasma generated in the atmosphere filled with the main gas, for a predetermined short period of time which is shorter than the time taken in the main processing step. The main gas is a gas in which, when plasma is generated, inactive ions not producing an oxide when reacted with the metallic base material are generated, and active ions producing the oxide when reacted with the metallic base material are not generated.
