The present invention relates to the field of dyeing keratinous fibers and more particularly to the field of hair dyeing. The present invention relates to a process for the direct dyeing of keratinous fibers, in particular human keratinous fibers such as the hair, which consists in using on said fibers i) an insoluble substrate comprising at its surface one or more direct dyes, and ii ) an aqueous composition, preferably comprising one or more oxidizing agents. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of said substrate thus pretreated. La présente invention a trait au domaine de la coloration des fibres kératiniques et plus particulièrement au domaine de la coloration capillaire. La présente invention concerne un procédé de coloration directe des fibres kératiniques, en particulier des fibres kératiniques humaines telles que les cheveux consistant à mettre en œuvre sur lesdites fibres i) un substrat insoluble comportant au niveau de sa surface un ou plusieurs colorants directs, et ii) une composition aqueuse, de préférence comprenant un ou plusieurs agents oxydants. La présente invention porte également sur un procédé de préparation dudit substrat ainsi prétraité.
