The present invention belongs to the field of human and veterinary therapeutics. The invention is based on the finding that an antagonist of Ninjurin-1 is capable of significantly and efficiently inhibiting proliferation of a neuroblastoma and/or neuroglioma cell line. The invention thus pertains to an antagonist of Ninjurin-1 for use as a medicament, and in particular for use in the treatment or prevention of cancers such as brain cancers. The invention also pertains to the use of Ninjurin-1 as a target, and to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a Ninjurin-1 antagonist.La présente invention concerne le domaine des substances thérapeutiques en médecine humaine et vétérinaire.
