<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enhancing nutrient components in a plant by which the content of antioxidant substance such as a reduced ascorbic acid in the plant is effectively increased to reduce a bad effect on the plant and the human body so as to inexpensively produce a health plant contributing to the human health. <;P>;SOLUTION: The method for enhancing nutrient components in a plant includes irradiating a plant with light having a wavelength of 400-410 nm from a light-emitting diode in a dark period only for a prescribed period of time when raising the plant so as to increase the content of the antioxidant substance in the plant. The antioxidant substance employs reduced ascorbic acid and total phenolic substances, and the plant employs monocotyledon such as sprouted Welsh onion. <;P>;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
