PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-irritant and highly safe surface modifier for a denture for preventing, ameliorating or relieving various symptoms caused by dryness in the oral cavity.SOLUTION: The surface modifier for the denture is characterized as comprising sericin. Wettability of the denture base surface is improved and a reduction in a sense of incompatibility and a pain and a moist feeling in the oral cavity during mounting of the denture are obtained. The sericin has high biocompatibility and is tasteless and odorless. Thereby, the low-irritant and highly safe surface modifier for the denture can be provided.
