PURPOSE: An Asarum sieboldii root extract and a fraction thereof are provided to ensure antibacterial activity against pathogenic microorganisms and anti-inflammatory activity.CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing an Asarum sieboldii root extract for antibiotics comprises the steps of: extracting Asarum sieboldii root powder with methanol filtering the extract and removing the solvent concentrating the extract by reduced pressure to obtain a concentrated methanol extract of Asarum sieboldii root freeze-drying the concentrated methanol extract and dissolving in distilled water adding n-hexane to the suspension, and incubating collecting an n-hexane layer and sequentially adding chloroform, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol and stirring incubating to separate into a distillation layer and an organic solvent layer and collecting the organic solvent layer.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013본 발명은 항균 활성을 갖는 족두리풀 뿌리 추출물 및 이를 포함하는 항균 조성물에 관한 것이다. 족두리풀 뿌리의 메탄올 추출물과 클로로포름 분획물이 Staph. aureus와 B. cereus에 강한 항균활성을 보였으며, 특히 항생제 내성균인 MRSA에 대해 항균활성을 보였으며, B. cereus에 대해서 암피실린보다 더 높은 항균활성을 나타냈다.
