An adapter assembly for selectively interconnecting a surgical end effectorincluding atleast one axially translatable drive member and a powered actuator deviceincluding at least onerotatable drive shaft is provided. The adapter assembly includes an actuationshaft configured toconvert rotation of a first drive shaft of the powered actuator device into anaxial translation of afirst drive member of the surgical end effector. The adapter assembly furtherincludes anelongate tube configured to convert rotation of a second drive shaft of thepowered actuatordevice into an axial translation of a second drive member of the surgical endeffector. Theactuation shaft is disposed within the elongate tube, and the actuation shaftand the elongate tubetranslate axially independent of each other.
