PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tampon including a string-like member connected to an absorber without being exposed to the surface of a cylindrical absorber.SOLUTION: A tampon 1 includes an absorber 2 formed by cylindrically molding a sheet member 3, and a string-like member 4 connected to the absorber 2. The string-like member 4 includes a first string part 41 connected to one surface of the sheet member 3 along a first direction, and a second string part 42 extending from the sheet member 3. A first fold part 21 is formed in one of second directions crossing the first direction of the first string part 41, and a second fold part 22 is formed in the other second direction. The first fold part 21 includes a first recess 5A formed so as to be recessed in a thickness direction on one surface of the sheet member 3, and the second fold part 22 includes a second recess 5B formed so as to be recessed in the thickness direction on the other surface opposite to the one surface. The absorber 2 is deformed so as to bend from the first fold part 21 and the second fold part 22, and is molded into the cylindrical shape not exposing the first string part 41.
