A web wrap apparatus (18) has a separator (42) with a separating edge (96) and a feeder (40) transporting web (32) to a bale chamber (16). In order to keep the separating edge (96) clean from dirt, web fibers, etc. a stripper (124) is connected to the feeder (40), which during a relative movement with respect to the separator (42) strips along the separating edge (96) and removes any particles sticking there.
