PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purification element including a gas-liquid contact member where electrolytic water and air are brought into contact and which is highly resistant to active oxygen such as ozone, is suitable for cost reduction and favorably brings electrolytic water such as ozone water and air into contact, and an air cleaner incorporating the air purification element.SOLUTION: The air purification element includes: a planar gas-liquid contact member of a material highly resistant to active oxygen, in which many air passing holes are formed through in a ventilation direction and an electrolytic water guiding member in a fiber sheet shape or a net shape, which is formed of a material highly resistant to the active oxygen while keeping the state in which the air easily passes through.
