PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for an aquarium to suck retained water in an aquarium T by siphon effect and discharge from the aquarium, having good operability, capable of continuously discharging the water sucked into the cleaning device from the aquarium together with filthy materials and free from the troubles of the sticking of the filthy material to the suction pipe and the conducting pipe and the clogging of the pipes with the material.
SOLUTION: The cleaning device is provided with a water container 1 having a capacity continuously variable by the application of an external force, a suction pipe 20 inserted into an aquarium T, a conducting pipe 10 connecting the container and the suction pipe, and an air pipe 12 connecting an air chamber at the upper part of the water container 1 to the outer atmosphere. The water in the aquarium T can be recovered into the water container 1 by siphon effect by pressing and depressing the water container 1 from outside.
