This disclosure describes compositions for skin lightening, brightening, whitening, reducing the appearance of age spot and/or improving the appearance of skin. The composition may include two or more tryosinase inhibiting compounds and one or more extracts from at least one plant species to inhibit alpha-Melanoctye-stimulating hormone. Other embodied compositions include at least one peptide having tyrosinase inhibiting qualities； at least on hydroquinone derivative； and at least one extract from at least one plant species.
