The floor transceiver circuit (40) is arranged on a floor surface (30) and configured to determine a position of the animal transceiver within the floor surface on the basis of the radio frequency signal received from the animal transceiver (10). An animal cage (50) includes a cage configured to accommodate an animal (20), and the localization system (1).
