An aqueous post-foaming composition comprising (i) 2-20% wt of anionic surfactant(s), (ii) 1-10% wt of amine oxide surfactant(s), (iii) 0.5-3% wt of a hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable acrylic emulsion (HASE) polymer, as polymer solids, (iv) 1-50% wt of an oil and (v) a foaming agent comprising a non-polar saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon having 3-6 carbon atoms. The HASE polymer may be an acrylate/steareth-20 methacrylate crosspolymer, an acrylate/beheneth-25 methacrylate copolymer or an acrylate/palmeth-25 acrylate copolymer, preferably at an amount of 1-2% by weight. A preferred anionic surfactant is sodium laureth sulphate (SLES). Preferred amine oxide surfactants are lauramine oxide, myristamine oxide, cocamine oxide, lauramidopropyl amine oxide, myristamidopropyl amine oxide and cocamidopropyl amine oxide, at an amount of 1-5% wt. The foaming agent may be n-butane, isobutane, n-pentane, isopentane or neopentane, at an amount of 2-20% wt. A preferred amount of oil is also 2-20% wt. The composition may further comprise several other ingredients. It is in gel or cream form and it may be used as a body, facial or hand wash, for washing hair or as a shaving gel, producing creamy foam in use. It may also serve as a vehicle for the delivery of various ingredients to the skin or hair.
