PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid composition for gargle which enables long-term storage and excels in handling properties.SOLUTION: The liquid composition for gargle includes lidocaine and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, sodium azulene sulfonate, water, and a solvent. The amount of the lidocaine and/or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is 2-12 w/v% based on the entire amount of the liquid composition for gargle, and the amount of the sodium azulene sulfonate is 0.1-4 w/v% based of the entire amount of the liquid composition of gargle, and the solvent is any one selected from the group consisting of (1) propylene glycol, (2) propylene glycol and macrogol 400, and (3) propylene glycol and concentrated glycerol.
