PHYCOCYANINS FILLED IN DIVALENT METALS OBTAINED BY THE INTERNALIZATION OF THESE METALS BY CYANOBACTERIA ARTHROSPIRA PLATENSIS AND BY DIRECT FIXATION. PRODUCTS OBTAINED THEREFROM
Metal-phycocyanin having very high metal content comprising a combination of a protein constituent of cyanobacteria, and phycocyanin, with a divalent metal, where the metal is chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, and the combination is constituted by a binding of the metal with cyanobilins and di-sulfide bridges of the phycocyanin, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for obtaining the metal-phycocyanin comprising: (a) culturing a cyanobacterium, preferably Arthrospira platensis, in optimal medium to provide abundant biomass after filtration; (b) physiological induction consisting in treating a biomass in a separate medium (induction medium) containing a stress generator with oxygen fixer, in the case of Arthrospira platensis, where the stress generator is sodium chloride at 0.2 M and the oxygen fixer is sodium sulfite at 0.1 M and the incubation is for 20 minutes to an hour at 25[deg] C; (c) incorporating divalent metal in the cyanobacterium in a medium containing neither carbonate nor phosphate, at a pH of 7-9.5. in which the metal is dissolved at a concentration of 1-2 wt.% (incorporating medium), where the incubation is carried out for 1-2 hours at a temperature of 20-30[deg] C after filtration and washing a cyanobacterium highly filled in metal containing the metal in the form of metal-proteins one of which is the metal-phycocyanin; (d) after filtration and washing, extracting metal-phycocyanin by conventional methods, grinding and precipitating in ammonium sulfate followed by a dialysis or an ultra filtration to eliminate the salt and unfixed metal; and drying of the metal-phycocyanin by spraying or freeze-drying; and (2) standardized products obtained by mixing one of spirulina metals with non induced spirulina not containing metals and comprising spirulina-iron (Fe) having 5% of Fe, spirulina-zinc (Zn) having 5% of Zn, spirulina-copper (Cu) having 1% of Cu, spirulina-magnesium (Mg) having 1% of Mg
