The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a hydrogel, wherein the method is performed in a single step by mixing L-lysine and hyaluronic acid sodium salt in an aqueous solution with either EDC/HOBt or EDC/sulfo-NHS as coupling agent. Stabilization of a polysaccharide with a biomolecule - amino acid - through cross-linking to generate a bio- hydrogel with native building blocks for medical regenerative procedures. The designed biosimilar hydrogel is intended to be used in regenerative medicine for the purpose of regenerate, rejuvenate, restore structure or function of impaired degenerated tissue and promote healing.
