A method of forming an implantable biomaterial comprising the steps of providing a polyether-diisocyanate prepolymer, reacting the prepolymer with one or more chain extender molecules typically including benzene 1,4-diol to form a mouldable polymer selected from a polyurethane or polyurethane-urea polymer or a polyurethane-urea block copolymer； placing the mouldable polymer into an implantable biomaterial shaped mould, and shaping and curing the mouldable polymer in the implantable biomaterial shaped mould to form the implantable biomaterial. An implantable biomaterial such as a heart valve leaflet is also disclosed.L'invention concerne un procédé de formation d'un biomatériau implantable comprenant les étapes consistant à fournir un prépolymère de polyéther-diisocyanate, à faire réagir le prépolymère avec une ou plusieurs molécules d'extenseur de chaîne comprenant typiquement du benzène 1,4-diol pour former un polymère moulable choisi parmi un polymère de polyuréthane ou de polyuréthane-urée ou un copolymère séquencé de polyuréthane-urée ； à placer le polymère moulable dans un moule en forme de biomatériau implantable, et à mettre en forme et à durcir le polymère moulable dans le moule en forme de biomatériau implantable pour former le biomatériau implantable. L'invention concerne également un biomatériau implantable tel qu'un feuillet de valvule cardiaque.
