PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking assist device with a novel structure capable of favorably and stably retaining a correct worn state of second fitting parts on knee sides.SOLUTION: A walking assist device 10 includes second fitting parts 16 having a composite structure each of which consists of at least two different cloth layers of an inner layer 54 and an outer layer 64 superposed in the thickness direction to be connected to each other. The second fitting parts are fitted to the knee sides of the patients leg parts by being wound therearound in the circumferential direction, where each inner layer 54 in a human body side is defined as a highly-stretchable cloth layer having higher stretching property than that of the outer layer 64 and is configured to apply assist force by an assist-force transmission part 12 to the outer layer 64. However, the inner layer 54 and the outer layer 64 are configured to be independent of each other at least at one circumferential end of the second fitting part 16.
