PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remedy halation and blocked up shadows which partially occur in an image and to obtain a nature image having gradually changed brightness.SOLUTION: An endoscope is inserted into the inside of an observation target and images an object inside the observation target while illuminating the object. The endoscope includes an imaging part 4 imaging the object illumination parts 5a, 5b illuminating the object and a controlling part controlling the imaging part and the illumination parts and processing the captured image obtained by the imaging performed by the imaging part. The illumination part includes at least a first illumination part 5a and a second illumination part 5b which are so designed that their illuminated regions partially overlap each other and their peak positions in light distribution are set in different light properties.
