PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus capable of presenting a moving image which does not give a feeling of strangeness even when the temperature of the tip end of the endoscope insertion unit rises.SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope apparatus comprises: a light source control unit an imaging unit which comprises a light receiving unit including plural two-dimensionally arranged pixels and a drive control unit for driving the readout of imaging signals from the plural pixels and a control unit. The drive control unit drives the readout of imaging signals from the plural pixels in a period in which light emission stop control is performed in a frame period.
