PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device for a planting container which is prevented from smearing a fence.SOLUTION: A holding device for a planting container is placed along the top end of a fence (1) and includes: a bottom member (11) being a plate-like member fixed on the top surface of the fence and side surface plates (12) being two plate-like members placed at a prescribed interval so as to face each other, and fixed to the bottom member in a direction of standing on the plate surface of the bottom member. Between the two side surface plates, a housing space (10a) is formed, and between the bottom member and the side surface plates, drainage outlets (18) are formed as openings. The bottom member is provided with drain portions (11e) where water flowing down through the drainage outlets is drained.
