PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive cornea-protecting agent having high effects for repairing corneal problem and to provide a composition for ophthalmology.SOLUTION: The cornea-protecting agent contains a hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) having proliferation effects of corneal epithelial cell, and chondroitin sulfuric acid or a salt thereof as active ingredients.
