Disclosed is a drug delivery device for injecting medicament which includes: atubularreservoir for accommodating a medicament； a stopper slidably disposed in thereservoir； aspring for moving the stopper from a first position to a second position inthe reservoir； atleast one needle, the needle having a distal end for insertion into a patient,and a lumenextending proximally from the distal end, the lumen being in direct orindirectcommunication with the reservoir； a needle driver for displacing the needlefrom a firststate to a second state； and, an actuator. The disclosed drug delivery devicepermits controlof the needle displacement separate from the reservoir.
