An ultrasound endoscope includes an ultrasound transducer; a balloon groove; a contact portion that constitutes a bottom surface of the balloon groove and that is in contact with a balloon band; a first wall portion that includes a first wall surface being a surface constituting the balloon groove on a ultrasound transducer side and in which a first distance that is a distance from a center of a cross section orthogonal to an extension direction of the insertion portion to an outer circumference of a first wall surface is larger than a second distance that is a distance from the center of the cross section to an outer circumference of the contact portion; and a second wall portion that includes a second wall surface being a surface constituting the balloon groove and facing the first wall surface, in which a third distance that is a distance from the center of the cross section to an outer circumference of the second wall surface is larger than the second distance, and that includes a notch portion provided with a surface in which a distance from the center of the cross section to the surface of the notch portion is larger than the second distance and is smaller than a distance in a direction in which the third distance is the largest. Consequently, an ultrasound endoscope in which a balloon can be easily removed is provided.
