PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which improves flexibility of an attitude so that a subject is not put in an unnatural attitude when imaging a subjects hand.
SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 1 images the magnetic resonance image of the hand of the subject M. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 1 is provided with: a high frequency probe 6 provided with a plurality of high frequency coils for applying a high frequency magnetic field to a desired region of the hand to be imaged and detecting magnetic resonance signals generated from the hand a movable stand 5 on which the high frequency probe 6 is placed and which is disposed turnably and a cover 3 which turnably supports the movable stand 5.
