A surgical retractor tool for removing an object (12) from the stomach (14) or from the oesophagus (18) is disclosed. The tool comprises: a flexible steerable tube (28) for insertion into the body via the oral cavity； and a gripper (24) at the distal end (26) of the tube (28) for gripping an object (12) in the stomach (14) or the oesophagus (18) in order to allow for removal of the object from the stomach (14) or the oesophagus (18). The gripper includes first and second rotatable gripper surfaces (30) and a clamping mechanism (34) for moving the gripper surfaces (30) to clamp the object (12). The rotatable gripper surfaces (30) are arranged to rotate relative to the tube (28) in order to allow a longitudinal axis of a gripped object (12) to move into alignment with a longitudinal axis of the tube (28).L'invention concerne un outil écarteur chirurgical pour retirer un objet (12) de l'estomac (14) ou de l'oesophage (18). L'outil comprend : un tube orientable souple (28) destiné à être inséré dans le corps par l'intermédiaire de la cavité buccale ； et un préhenseur (24) au niveau de l'extrémité distale (26) du tube (28) pour saisir un objet (12) dans l'estomac (14) ou l'oesophage (18) afin de permettre le retrait de l'objet de l'estomac (14) ou de l'oesophage (18). Le préhenseur comprend des première et seconde surfaces de préhension rotatives (30) et un mécanisme de serrage (34) pour déplacer les surfaces de préhension (30) afin de serrer l'objet (12). Les surfaces de préhension rotatives (30) sont agencées pour tourner par rapport au tube (28) afin de permettre à un axe longitudinal d'un objet saisi (12) de se déplacer en alignement avec un axe longitudinal du tube (28).
