A method for assessing the functional state of the cervical backbone division comprises the examination of the patient for assessment of patients capability of flexion, extension, rotation, and lateroflexion. The examination is providing at standing or sitting position of the patient with straight trunk and head and arms at side. The first reference point &ndash the apex of the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra is found with the surface of the finger phalanges. Then the first point is connected imaginably by the horizontal line with the second reference point &ndash the attachment point of the sternocleidomastoid muscle on the anterior edge of the mastoid as the rotation center in the movements of the joints in the cervical backbone division. Then the leg of the goniometer is set at the site of the attachment point of the sternocleidomastoid muscle for measuring the angles between horizontal, frontal and sagittal planes of the joint movements at the level of the rotation point with the ruler of the goniometer placed at different planes of measurement.Способ оценки функционального состояния шейного отдела позвоночника включает обследование пациента путем количественного анализа его способности к сгибанию, разгибанию, ротации и латерофлексии.
