A medicament inhaler (10) comprising: a mouthpiece (24) for inhalation by a patient； a delivery passage (34) for directing a flow (150) of inhalation induced air through the nozzle (24)； a channel (52) extending from the delivery passage (34)； a reservoir (14) for containing a medicament, the reservoir (14) having a dispensing port (44) connected to the channel (52)； a cup (98) received in the channel (52) and mobile between the dispensing port (44) and the delivery passage (34)； and a cup spring (104) requesting the cup (98) towards one of the dispensing port (44) and the passage (34)； a movable fork (68) between at least two positions and including a ratchet (106) that engages the cup (98) and prevents movement of the cup (98) when the fork (68) is in one of the positions , and allowing said movement of the cup (98) when the fork (68) is in another position； at least one mobile cam (70) that includes at least two successive cam surfaces； and a spring (69) requesting the fork (68) against the cam (70) such that the movement of the cam (70) causes the fork (68) to successively engage the cam surface and move the fork (68) between the at least two fork positions (68)； a mobile cover (28) for opening and closing the nozzle (24), wherein the at least one cam (70) is secured to the cover (28) for movement with it, whereby opening and closing the nozzle (24 ) causes the fork (68) to move between the at least two positions of the fork (68)； and characterized by a nail (138) extending from the fork (68) and a dose counter (16), including the dose counter a coil (132), a rotating reel (134), a rolled tape (128) received on the coil (132) and rotating around an axis of the coil (132), the tape (128) having marks on it extending successively between a first end of the tape (128) secured to the reel (134) and a second end of the tape (128) positioned on the coil (132), and teeth (136) extending radially outward from the spool (134) within a predetermined path of the nail (138)
