PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect pest extermination method that can maintain excellent extermination effect by suppressing the reduction of airborne concentration of chemical after releasing thereof, and promoting the diffusion of the chemical by allowing the chemical to stay in the air and exhibit sufficient effect against hiding mosquitos, and can save waste use of the chemical as maintaining high safety.
SOLUTION: This invention is a method for exterminating insect pest by using a treating agent including insecticides and/or insect repellents, the airborne residue of the treating agent in the treating space is kept not less than 15% from the start of the treatment to one hour after, or 5% or more is kept from the start to two hours after.
