The gardening trimmer comprises a cam member (60) configured to be rotatably driven by the prime mover (40) and cause a pair of shear blades (110,210) of the first or second type blade assembly attached to the main body (12) to reciprocate. The cam member preferably comprises four cams including a first cam (61), a second cam (62), a third cam (63) and a fourth cam (64). The first and second cams are configured to be connected with a pair of shear blades (110) of the first type blade assembly (100) when the first type blade assembly is attached to the main body (12). The third and fourth cams are configured to be connected with a pair of shear blades (210) of the second type blade assembly (200) when the second type blade assembly is attached to the main body (12).
