Provided is a farm crop cultivation method comprising using a fluorescent emitting material for activating the photosynthesis of a farm crop, whereby the crop weight can be increased or the crop growth can be quickened to thereby establish a high cultivation efficiency with little variation in crop quality. Also provided is a farm crop cultivation method using a fluorescent emitting material, whereby the sugar concentration or the like of a crop can be elevated and the content of a component such as lycopene contained in vegetables or fruits, for example, tomato, watermelon or pink grapefruit can be increased. A farm crop cultivation method which comprises using, as a material for farm crop cultivation, a fluorescent emitting net and a fluorescent emitting sheet either alone or as a combination thereof, or a combination of a light reflective material with a fluorescent emitting net and/or a fluorescent emitting sheet, wherein the material for farm crop cultivation is located in such manner that, under light irradiation, the farm crop can be irradiated from multiple directions by the fluorescent light emitted from the fluorescent emitting net or fluorescent emitting sheet to thereby promote photosynthesis.
