Compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and methods for the treatment of microbial infections are provided. Such compounds may enhance the therapeutic effect of one or more antimicrobial agents when administered simultaneously. Such compounds have antitolic properties. There is provided a pharmaceutical composition comprising said compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The pharmaceutical composition may further comprise at least one antibiotic such as gentamycin, amikacin, kanamycin, neomycin, spectinomycin, neamine or any combination thereof.
